Conversion from Online to Desktop. Is there a way to create a .qbb file from QBO Plus to upload to QBD Enterprise?

We are using Right Networks so that multiple users can work in QBD Enterprise at one time. In order to upload into their platform, the file must be .qbb not Excel format.

Let me provide the file you can download from QuickBooks Online (QBO), lwmail4u.

 

The file we can provide from QBO is from an Excel format. And, here's how to get them out of the system:

  1. Select the Settings ⚙ and then Export Data.
  2. On the Reports tab, set the date range.
  3. Add or remove items from the Reports and Lists tabs by toggling the slider.
  4. Select Export to Excel.

You'll be prompted with confirmation that the data has been exported. 

 

If you need to export a different report, here's how to export reports to Excel. You many need to use a third- party app that can convert an Excel file to .qbb.

 

You have the option to directly move your files to Desktop. Simply follow these steps to accomplish this:

 

  1. Login to your client's QuickBooks Online account.
  2. the Settings ⚙. then choose Export Data.
  3. Enter your reason why you're exporting the data, then click Continue.
  4. Under Moving to QuickBooks Desktop?, select Learn more.
  5. Under Download company data, choose Learn more.
  6. Review your data from the export overview screen, then click Get Started.
  7. In the Exporting from QuickBooks Online page, select Continue to Download.
  8. Follow the rest of the on-screen instructions to complete the exporting process.

This didn't answer the question posed by lwmail4u.  They specifically stated that they want a .qbb NOT an Excel file.  I also want a .qbb from QBO.  How is this done?  I did it before, years ago with another client. 

 

The question: Can we download a backup of QBO in order to restore it to QB desktop?

    Thank you for reaching out to us. Allow me to help you convert your data from QuickBooks Online to  QuickBooks Desktop.

     

    The .QBB file extension is only applicable in the desktop version. Also, you can back up your company data if you have QuickBooks Online Advanced.
