Default Product/Service for sales and time activities

I am trying to make these two services inactive, but keep getting these errors. The items have been deactivated in QBT, but when exporting times other services default to the Field Survey Crew. How do I change these default services?

We recognize the need to modify the default product/service items that QuickBooks generates for sales and time activities in your account, dollyc.

 

As QuickBooks Online generates an equipped default service item to track your sales and the hours worked, the ability to change them is unavailable, you may consider leaving this item as is. If the default item is an item that you've created, you can make a new Service item titled Sales or Service to replace the default so that you can make the other item inactive.

That doesn't solve my problem. When I import hours from QBT, it changes other service items to these and I have to manually adjust each item in QBO or add new services and change each item in QBT. The mapping is broken.

Hi there, @dollyc. I recognize your need for the feature of changing the default service item to track your sales and the hours worked in QuickBooks Time. 

 

In the meantime, I recommend sending us feedback so our product engineers know about it. We closely monitor the submissions and take them into consideration when prioritizing software development. 

 

Here's how to send via QuickBooks Workforce (formerly QuickBooks Time mobile app):

 

  1. Click the Help (?) button in the top right part.
  2. Select Suggest Idea.
  3. Enter Your Email and Idea.
  4. Hit Send Idea. I'll add a snapshot for reference:

 

Here's how to submit via the QuickBooks Time computer app:

 

  1. Go to help.tsheets.com.
  2. At the bottom, select Suggest an idea.
  3. Enter your idea, then hit Post a new idea or Vote for an existing idea.
  4. Optional: Choose a category.
  5. Describe the idea, and click on Post idea.
