I wrote a check from m personal account and deposited the check to my business account.  How do I apply it to Shareholder Equity?  I can't delete the entry and re-enter bc I downloaded my bank info directly into quickbooks.  Please advise.

Hi there, @FB20. I'd be happy to assist you on how to record the check to the Shareholder Equity account in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

You can categorize it right away from the Banking page to Shareholder Equity. However, if it has been added, you can undo it and categorize it to the correct account. I'll show you the steps below:

  1. Go to the Banking page and select the business account.
  2. In the Categorized tab, locate the transaction and click Undo under the Action column.
  3. Go back to the For review tab and click on the transaction.
  4. In the Category field choose Shareholder Equity and fill out the rest of the field.
  5. Select Add.

After that, you can reconcile it properly whenever you're ready. To know more details about this process, you can check out this article: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

I'll be around if you need further assistance with categorizing your transactions or any processes in QBO. Don't hesitate to let me know in the comment section. Enjoy the rest of your day!
