Question

Does anyone know how to turn off 2 step verification? I want to be able to login to QBooks online without having to get the numbers from my email. Thank you.

Your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account's security is our top priority, @mimiohannon. That's why I'm here to make sure you're able to manage your access and account verification when logging into it accordingly.

Two-step verification is an extra layer of security when accessing your QBO account. It's a setting where you need to verify, using a code sent to your mobile phone or email that you're the one accessing your account every time. To turn this off using the same phone number, here's how:

  1. Sign in to your Intuit account.
  2. From the left menu, select Sign In & Security.
  3. In the Two-step verification section, select Turn off.
  4. Enter the code, then select Continue.

In case you're using a different phone number, you'll first need to update it so you can log in to the account. Once done, you can turn off two-step verification. You can learn more about this through this article: Verify your QuickBooks Online account with multi-factor authentication or two-step verification.

Also, to further guide you in managing your QBO account, I'd recommend checking out this article: Account Management. It includes topics about updating billing info, managing your password, and subscription, to name a few.

Keep me posted if you have other concerns about two-step verification and managing user access in QBO. I'm always ready to help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, @mimiohannon.

I have QB desktop. Are you aware that there is no disable function? How do I disable the two step verification?

Thank you.

Good evening, @jesus1989

Thanks for joining in on this thread. I can share some insight to get the two step verification turned off.

The steps my colleague provided do work for your QuickBooks Desktop account as well. All you need to do is login through your Intuit Account and use the instructions above to get you taken care of.

Let me know if these steps work for you or if you need some additional assistance. I'm always here to have you back. Have a great day!
