Question

Does QB online have the same report as Time by Job Detail in QB Desktop? Both Unbilled & Time Activities by Customer have time already billed on them.

Support is telling me I need to get an app called DAPT in order for QB Online to be able to pull only unbilled time.

Hello there, @Lara11_2.

Thanks for getting in touch with the Community. I've got your back, I'll provide insights to clarify your concern about does QuickBooks Online (QBO) has the same report as Time by Job Detail in QB Desktop.

The Time by Job Detail report in QuickBooks Desktop has a similar counterpart in QuickBooks Online called Time Activities by Customer Detail and Employee Details.

This report provides a detailed breakdown of time activities by customer, which is comparable to the Time by Job Detail report.

To filter only unbilled time, you can customize this report and select the "Billed Status" filter to show only unbilled time.

Thank you for the reply. I originally started with the Time Activity by Customer report, but it was pulling time that was already invoiced. I contacted support and they said I was using the wrong report. They said I should use the Unbilled Time report. I tried that too, but again it pulled in time that was already included on invoices and in many cases already paid. How do I pull time that has not been included on an invoice for my customers so we can invoice them correctly?

Hello there, lara-.

The  Time Activity by Customer report is also good to see the detailed overview of the time spent on various activities for each customer.

In your situation, the Unbilled Time report would be the most suitable option to utilize. This report doesn't include time that has already been invoiced and paid. Can you also clarify the specific section of the report where you believe it includes time associated with invoices that have already been paid?

Since it seems to be functioning differently for you, you can perform these steps:

  1. Access your QBO account in an incognito or private browsing window to make sure that cached data isn't causing the issue.
    Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
    Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
Safari: press Command Shift + N
  2. Once done, clear your browser's cache and cookies. This can often resolve issues related to stored data.
  3. You can also use other supported and up-to-date web browsers.
