Does QBO have the capability to only give certain users access to certain reports? I would like to only give access to department reports, not the entire P

Hi - On a monthly basis I create departmental (class) finance reports for my company. I've set these up as automatic monthly reports that show up in the custom reports once the previous month is closed by our controller. Ideally, I would like to give every department head access to view their individual departmental reports through Quickbooks, as within Quickbooks you can click on the amount within the GL and it gives you the detail expense. I've spent hours trying to figure out how to only give access to reports that I choose. I do not want these users to have access to the full P

Hi Philip,

Thank you for your question, and welcome to the QuickBooks Community!

I can see that it would be a greater option to have levels of customization for users accessing the reports. In the current setting, their access only depends on what type of user they are, and it's pretty much predefined on the next page after selecting a user type. Currently, the option to limit one to the department reports is not available.

See more information about adding and managing custom roles in QuickBooks Online Advanced for your additional reference should you add more users in the future.

I'm just around if you have more questions about a user's access in QBO.
