Question

During the initial QB setup, I associated my "Contacts". Now, every time I click to enter something in a field a list of my contacts comes up. I don't want that.

How do I disassociate my personal Contacts with QB?

Hi there, captainjudie.

 

Which field are you referring to because normally when you click on a Payee, Customer, or any field that requires names, you will see your list of contacts? If they show you even on a field that doesn't require names, you'll want to do the basic troubleshooting steps.

 

Browser interface:

 

You'll want to sign in to QuickBooks using a private browser. This step disables its extensions and stops the cache from saving your browsing history.

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • MS Edge and Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If the names will no longer show up on fields that don't require names, you can go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. But if they still show up, please try other browsers to see if we get the same thing.


QBO app:

 

If the issue occurs in the app, you'll want to reinstall your app.
