Online payroll data export does not work - no iif doc appears in download folder.  Is there another location it is placed?

Hello there, @userstuart-dubey

Allow me to assist you in locating the IIF file you've exported from QuickBooks Online (QBO).

First off, we'll need to make sure we've set up your payroll preferences correctly to make sure we can perform the export process seamlessly.

Now to locate the IIF file:

  1. Select File Explorer from the taskbar, or press the Windows logo key  + E.
  2. Under Quick access, select Downloads.
  3. You can also find your Downloads folder under This PC.

You can also look in your browser's settings to see where it's saving your downloads.

However, if you still can't find the file, the file might've been corrupted. With this, let's export the payroll data once again and take note of which folder you save it to:

  1. Go to Payroll, then Overview.
  2. From the Shortcuts, select Export.
  3. Choose the transactions you want to export. You can also utilize the Filters button to find the transaction you need.
  4. Click on Export.

I've included this article as well in case you ever need to view payroll reports. This details each report's description as well as the data available: Run payroll reports.

Let me know if you need additional information about exporting payroll data in QBO. I'll be right here if you have follow-up questions about the process. Have a good one.
