Hello there, @virginiaiveyferg. I'm here to ensure you're able to record receipts using the QuickBooks Online (QBO) app. With this, you can effectively manage your expenses and keep your account updated.

The receipt capture feature is included in all QBO plans. Since you're unable to utilize the said feature on your iPhone, you'll have to clear your app data. This will refresh the system and remove the older files that cause the app's unusual behavior. There are two places to execute the process. In the app itself and your phone settings.

In the QuickBooks Online app:

  1. Go to the Menu icon.
  2. Select Help & Feedback.
  3. Choose Refresh Data, then select Refresh.

In your iPhone or iPad Settings:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Setting General iPhone Storage and choose the QBO app.
  3. Choose Offload App. This will free up the storage without deleting your app's documents and data.

After that, power down and restart your iPhone. This is to make sure the updates are implemented accordingly.

In case the issue persist after performing the steps above, I'd recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the app. This is to ensure the version you'll be using is the updated one. You can uninstall by tapping and hold the app icon. Then, drag it into the Uninstall trash can at the top of the screen.

Once done, reinstall the app. For the step-by-step guide, kindly refer to this article: Install QuickBooks Online on iPhone. It also includes a reminder about the availability of the app using a specific mobile version.

To fix most app-related issues, you can refer to this article: Troubleshooting Quick-Start Guide for the QuickBooks Online app.

I'm also adding this article to learn more about the QBO app features available on supported mobile devices: Compare mobile app features. It contains a comparison chart between your iPhone and iPad.

Let me know how it goes in the comments below. If you have other concerns about recording receipts using the QBO app, I'm just around to help. Take care always.
