Question

Hi, I'm trying to use my quickbooks self employed app. It just keeps telling me there was an error signing in. Nothing more. I can login to my account on the computer just fine.

Thank you for contacting us, bansbacham.

Would it be okay if you can provide a screenshot of the error you've received during the sign-in process? This will help me look up the exact information needed to resolve this issue.

I've also checked and found out there was a ticket (INV-40284) created for some users who are getting "Unable to sign in. The internet connection appears to be offline" error message. However, our Product Team had fixed this issue.

If you're receiving the same error, make sure to update the QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) app on your phone. This will help ensure it is up-to-date, and you're able.

If the same issue persists, I recommend contacting our QBSE Technical Team. They can investigate further what's causing the error to appear when logging in to the mobile app.

Here's how to get in touch with them:

  1. Log in to your account using a web browser.
  2. Click Assistant from the top bar.
  3. Enter "Talk to human" until you see "I still need a human".
  4. Choose a way to connect with a live agent.

In the meantime, you'd want to access your account in the web browser while we're looking into this matter.

You can also refer to the Contact QuickBooks Self-Employed Support link to get help using the mobile app.

I'll keep this post while waiting for your response.

Hi @bansbacham,

Thank you for your prompt reply, as well as sharing a screenshot of the error message you stated above.

If following the steps provided by my colleague @MaryLandT above still shows the same result, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Self-Employed Technical Support team for assistance. They can investigate further as to why you have this specific error message showing up. You can follow the same steps she provided above.
