Question

Hi, I need help giving my accountant access to my account. He had it back in January, then he couldn't see my account the last few weeks.

Hi, Amy78.

Thank you for reaching out to the QuickBooks Community. I can help with sending out another invite to your accountant. You can use the manage users function to invite your accountant as a user to QuickBooks. To invite your accountant as a user to your file use these steps:

  1. Select Settings
  2. Under About You, select Accountant.
  3. In the Invite your Accountant field, enter the accountant's email address.
  4. Select Send Invite. A confirmation that the invitation was sent appears
  5. Select done.

The invitation will be sent to the accountant. Once the accountant accepts the invitation, they are provided with access to your data through QuickBooks Online Accountant. I'm here as well to help if you have any questions. Just reply below at any time to reach me.

Hi, I did exactly what you suggested three times. Each time, my accountant was able to accept my invitation, but when he logged in to QB online, he still can not see QB account.

Hi there, amy78.

Thank you for following the steps provided above to resolve the issue.

There are several reasons your accountant couldn't see your QuickBooks account even if he already accepted the invitation.

This can occur if:

  • The incorrect login is used
  • They were not invited as the Accountant
  • Firm access to the client was removed
  • The client was moved to the inactive list
  • The client was renamed in the QuickBooks Online Accountant Client List

Please refer to this article to your accountant on how to find solutions based on what caused the issue: How to find a company that is missing from the QuickBooks Online Accountant client list.

You can check this article to see different user types and levels of access in QuickBooks Online: User types in QuickBooks Online.

You can also click this article on how to delete and change what a user can do and access: Add, delete, or change user access.

Please know that you're always welcome to post if you have any other concerns. Wishing you and your business continued success.
