Thanks for coming here with us, niaimani10.

If you're referring to the automated tax payment and form filing feature enabled by default in Quick You can turn this feature off and handle taxes manually if you prefer.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Payroll Settings.
  2. In the Taxes and forms section, clear the Automate taxes and forms checkbox.
  3. Select Save.

Check out this article for more details about turning off automatic tax payments and form filings in QBO: Turn off automatic tax payments and form filings.

If you meant something else, please let me know. Any details will be appreciated.

I have a client that has turned off their automated payments and filings due to the fact that there isn't an option for the 943 for the agriculture business they run (Is there every going to be an option for that?). The Online payroll has a To Do for paying the taxes for 941/944. Is there a way to have this go away? Otherwise it will show that the taxes are overdue and will become an irritant to constantly see that every time she goes in to do payroll.

Thank you for any feedback on this. Adding a feature to handle Form 943 filings and payments would be the MOST helpful solution to this need. There are a lot of agricultural business in the country that would benefit from this.

Hi there, dianep65.

Thanks for joining this thread. I'd be glad to provide some info regarding the 943 form in your QuickBooks Online account.

I can see how having the option to remove the reminder would be beneficial. At this time there isn't a way to do that directly but I'll do my part and pass your suggestion along to the Product Development Team for review. Many product updates come from great user feedback like yours. You can keep an eye out for these types of reforms by viewing the Firm of the Future site

Please don't hesitate to reach back out if you have any other questions in the mean time. I'll be here to help any way that I can.

Our first payroll is later this week and our president is out of town until Thursday.  If I turn automated payroll tax off can I turn it back on before running payroll on Thursday?

Thanks for joining this thread, @mh-pfg. Let me share some information about the Automated payroll tax feature in QuickBooks.

Automated taxes and forms can be turned off, resulting in a manual option for submitting your payroll payments and forms. And can be also activated when necessary. Please know that disabling this feature can affect the tax reporting period.

To turn the said feature off, you can follow the steps below.

  1. Select the Gear icon, then choose Payroll Settings.
  2. Click the Pencil icon in the Taxes and forms section.
  3. Clear the Automate taxes and forms checkbox.
  4. Select how you plan on making your tax payments and filings.
  5. Press Save, then Done.

In addition, here’s how to view your payroll tax payments and forms in the program: Access payroll tax forms and tax payments.

If you have any other questions or concerns besides automated payroll tax, just add them to your reply. I’ll be here anytime. Take care always!
