Question

Hi, I want to add class to past revenue entries auto generated by the revenue recognition feature. Currently they are showing as "not specified" on reports.

I have added the class to the related invoices now but that doesn't reflect in the posted revenue entries.

It's advisable to add classes first when you create the invoice before the system generates the revenue recognition for it to be specified, p-gopinath.

 

Adding classes to the related invoices of past revenue entries will still display as "Not Specified" in QuickBooks Online since the system already generated revenue recognition transactions.

 

You can consider deleting the invoice to remove all revenue recognition transactions and recreate it with the preferred classes to achieve your goal. Remember to note down all the necessary details.

 

Furthermore, I recommend sending feature requests to our product development team for the functionality to make the past entries as specified when adding classes to the invoices linked to it. Our engineers will evaluate your suggestions and may consider implementing them.

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then choose Feedback.
  2. Type in your valuable suggestions and recommendations. 
  3. Select Next to submit.
     


You can monitor your recommendations through our 
Feature Requests website. 

 

For future reference, you can customize your reports to view specific data and memorize them to save time.
