How can I keep Quickbooks Online active for a longer period of time before it automatically logs me out due to inactivity?

My bookkeeping activities sometimes involves digging through paper files, not just online actions. I want to turn back to my PC and not have to log back into Quickbooks Online because I was away for too long.

QuickBooks Online offers a user-friendly feature that allows you to set your time-out duration. You can change its default setting through the Account and Settings page.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon ⚙️ at the upper right corner and select Account and Settings.
  2. From the left panel, select Advanced.
  3. Go to the Other preferences section and click Edit ✎.
  4. Choose 1, 2, or 3 hours from the Sign me out if inactive ▼ drop-down menu, then click Save.
  5. Hit Done.

To know more about this feature, check out this article: Change the timeout duration in QuickBooks Online. On the same link, you'll find tips on what are the things to remember when using this feature.

Additionally, I recommend visiting this link: Account Management. This will provide links about managing your QuickBooks Online account, users, password, and billing.

If there's anything else I can help you with, please let me know. I'd be more than willing to lend you a hand. Have a good one.
