I am trying to run payroll detail reports for an audit and I need to go back to 2016. The date range will not allow me to go back more than 2 years.

Thanks for posting, @SBEZAK.

Let me share some tips on how you can show the prior year's payroll detail report.

On the Payroll Detail Report interface, you can set the Date Range to Custom to go way back 2016 report. Also, make sure to click the Calendar icon beside the drop-down.

For example, picking the reporting year, and then choose the month, then the specific day from the domain to the range of the reporting period. Then click Run report.

Also, you can do the same on the Employee's tab when viewing the Paycheck list in the Workers/Payroll menu. Then click on the amount to show the paycheck details.

I've added a video article for your reference on running a personalized report: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online. From there, you can also see the steps on how to email the statement under Step 4.

In case you want to save the report and print it later, you can follow the steps through this source: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online.

I'll be happy to help if you need further assistance. Take care and more power!
