I could do this before with QuickBooks Desktop. Now I am using QuickBooks Online.

I can share some information in customizing reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @mobile-precision.

At this time, you can show negative amounts in your report in color red, in parenthesis and with a negative sign ( -100, (100), 100-). However, the feature to show expenses as negative when running the Transaction Detail by Account Report is currently unavailable.

I can see that it would be a great addition to the current features that we have, the ability to customize how the amounts will look like in your reports, so I'll take note of it. For now, you can visit the QuickBooks Blog to check for new updates and features that we have.

Here’s more information on how to run reports in QBO. Additionally, this one can help you customize reports in QBO.

Let me know if you have follow-up questions in customizing your reports and or anything else. I'm always here to assist. Have a great rest of the day!

Anybody working on this at QBO right now? I don't understand why my expenses would not show negative in my "Transaction Detail by Account" - reports... can you help me?

THANKS,

Dan
