My shared document tab has no clickable buttons and only says: You don't have any documents here yet - add some files to get started. Nothing to click - all dithered out.

Let me guide you on how you can upload a file, frustrated34.

QuickBooks contains a lot more essential information related to your company data. To perform some critical or technical method, you may require an accountant to review your accounting books. You'll have to export the file so it can be uploaded to Shared Document. Then from there, you can share document reports with your client. To export, you can follow the steps below:
  1. On the left pane, go to Reports.
  2. Select the financial report you want to export.
  3. At the top of the report, select the Export icon. Then select Export to Excel or Export to PDF.
  4. Save the file where you can easily find it, like your Downloads folder or your desktop.

Once done, go to the client's QuickBooks to upload the file.
  1. On the left panel, click My Accountant.
  2. Click the Shared documents tab.
  3. Select Upload.
  4. Find and click the document to open.

I want to UPLOAD a PDF of my own TO Quickbooks for my accountant to view.  It says SHARE DOCs and that's what I am trying to do - I am not attempting to export a report to my accountant.  I want to UPLOAD a doc TO quickbooks.

Thanks for coming back for more support, @frustrated34.

I understand that you want to let your accountant see your files.

In QuickBooks Online, you don't need to manually share your company data with your accountant. Instead, you'll want to invite them so they'll have access to your account. It lets them review your books, modify, and fix any tricky transactions within QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Manage Users.
  2. From the Accounting firms section, click Add user or enter the accountant's email address in the Invite field.
  3. Click Invite or Save.
