Question

How do I add a contact/user to quickbooks desktop?

Hello, We have quickbook desktop.  I'm trying to add a user using my account online.  I'm able to add a user.  However, when they accept the invite it says 400 Bad Request.  What should I do?  The 400 Bad Request shows up each time a potential user selects the link.  We've even tried getting help from their call center and using the link in incognito mode.

Thank you!

Glad to have you here in the Community, @hollyplumb.

I appreciate you getting in touch with our support team to resolve this issue. No worries, I'm here to help make sure you can add a user to QuickBooks Desktop.

The 400 Bad Request error usually occurs when a browser has a data issue. And it should be fixed by using incognito or other browsers.

However, since using incognito doesn't resolve the issue, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team again. I understand that you already contact them before, but they're the best support group available to further check on this matter and provide in-depth troubleshooting steps to get this fixed. They can also create an investigation ticket if other QuickBooks users are experiencing the same. To reach them, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Help icon and select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Write your concerns in the description box, then select Continue.
  4. Select which one of the support options you'd like to use.

You can also check out this article for another way of reaching out to our support team and its support hours: QuickBooks Desktop Support.

You may also want to know how to manage users and their restrictions. This article serves you as a guide: QuickBooks Desktop Users and Restrictions.

You can update me here in the Community on how things go. I'll be more than happy to assist you again if you have other concerns or follow-up questions, @hollyplumb.
