How do I add or delete detail types?

Let me guide you on how you can edit detail types in your register, tad3.

 

Detail type provides more information about what you can track with each account type. They make it easy to create an account that fits the types of transactions you record in QuickBooks Online (QBO). That's why providing the said information is required. If you already set up your account and want to change the Detail Type, you'll have the option to edit the information by selecting from the available list provided. Follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Accounting menu, then choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. Select the account that you want to be changed. 
  3. Under the Action column, click the drop-down arrow beside the View register hyperlink.
  4. Select Edit
  5. On the Detail Type box, edit the information by clicking the drop-down arrow and selecting the type of transactions. 
  6. Click Save and Close.
