Good morning, @jwremovals2.

Thanks for contacting the Community for support. I'd be happy to provide some insight about downloading your QuickBooks Online file to a flash drive.

At this time, this feature is still unavailable.  A workaround here would be to export reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online to acquire the data you need within the system. For more details on how to do this, check out this article: Export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online.

I’m happy to share this feedback with our Development team on your behalf for consideration in future updates. To keep you updated about the latest features being rolled out, visit the QuickBooks Blog page.

Please let me know if I can help with anything else, I'm just a post away! Take care.

The inability to save to flash drive is why I’m looking for something other than QB online

We have yet to find any cloud based accounting app with such feature. You may backup your data with another cloud app or migrate it to CSV/XLS files as a workaround. You should purchase and use QB Desktop with a one time license. You can create a backup file of your data. Deploy a private cloud if required.
