How do I completely uninstall and install my QuickBooks to another machine.

Once again I am trying to use Quickbooks. I tried installing to my Workstation but choose some bad options and I was unable to redirect resources to a drive with more space. I need to completely remove everything and install on a different computer. After several attempts including the migration tool which did not include the exe. 

 

I have tried to migrate to quickbooks on several occasions. versions 2014,2015,2019 and now 2020. Probably 3 or for times even for then. without success. 

There seems to be ZERO support for any issues with licenses. and the requirements for GB's of space on C$ in public locations is silly.  

does anyone have a link to contact desktop support directly?

    I have another option that you may want to consider. 

     

    We can reinstall the file without using the Migrator Tool. Let me guide you with these steps:

     

    1. Have your product and license info available.
    2. Uninstall the existing QuickBooks program before attempting a reinstall.
    3. On the computer where you want QuickBooks Desktop installed, download the installation files or insert the CD.
    4. Install QuickBooks Desktop like the normal installation.

     

    Now, if you're still unable to install the program, it's best to have our Phone Support agent take a look at your file. From there, they'll be able to check and see what's stopping the system from moving the data.

     

    Here's how you can contact us:

     

    1. From the Help menu, select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
    2. Enter, Move data to another computer.
    3. Click Continue.
    4. Choose how you'll want to get in touch with our support.

    Any specific issue? Did you try migrating from which system? Which QB Desktop version did you install? QB Desktop Pro/Premier or Enterprise?

    I am installing QB Premier 2020. None of the suggestions are even relevant.  Even after uninstalling on the incorrect workstation , the installer will not start declaring the license invalid. This is entirely a license issue with overly complex and bugging software. 

    I have followed the suggestions in the first comment twice and the move_qb.exe referenced in the .bat file does not  exist.

    Thanks for sharing the outcome after following the steps provided by my colleague above, @YDPages.

     

    Since reinstalling QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Premier 2020 will prompt you with an invalid license code, you'll want to make sure that you're using the correct installer to accept your license code. You can verify it by logging in to your CAMPS account.

     

    If you're using the correct installer, let's perform some possible solutions to get your QBDT installed. Here's how:

     

    1. Check your date and time settings.
    2. Close all running QuickBooks tasks.
    3. Run the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool.
    4. Reactivate MSXML.
    5. Reset the .ecml file.
    6. Create a new Windows admin.
    7. Clean install QuickBooks Desktop.
