I want to extract a record of all my transactions from QBO. All the answers I see in the community are about moving transactions INTO Quickbooks. How do I move transactions out of QBO?

I appreciate that you've been looking for ways on how to export transactions out of QBO, @harpercreates-ma.

Currently, we're unable to export a CSV file from QBO. However, you can move transactions out of QBO to an Excel file. From there, you can change the file format to a CSV file.

Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and then select Export data under Tools.
  2. Go to the Reports tab and then switch on to export the following reports to Excel (these reports contain QuickBooks transactions).
  3. Switch off the lists from the Lists tab.
  4. Select Export to Excel.
  5. Hit OK.

Once done, open the zip file and run the a Excel file that contains a specific report. Click Enable Editing. Then follow these steps below to convert the Excel file to CSV:

  1. Click File and then choose Save As.
  2. Select Documents folder.
  3. In the Save as type drop-down, select CSV (Comma Delimited).
  4. Click Save and Yes to confirm.

That should point you in the right direction. I've also attached an article to check other options for exporting QBO data: Export Data out of QuickBooks Online.

Also, if you wanted to backup your data there apps in the QuickBooks App store that provide continuous backup.

Let me know if there's anything that I can help with exporting transactions or data out of QuickBooks. I'm always here to assist. Stay safe and have a wonderful day!

I used Transaction Pro for many years on my desktop.  Just switched quickbooks and Transaction Pro to online only,  No one can seem to figure out why I can't export files...When I am in Trans Pro, I log in with my Intuit account,  When I click Export and enter the date range , it says "no data found".  I had QB take over my computer and the agent is familiar with Trans Pro and could not detect any problems.  The support people at Trans Pro have been utterly useless,  Going on seven days now and no resolution.  All I need to do is take my QB sales receipts and convert them into a csv file for my shipping company.  Can anyone help me?

Hi! We use a 3rd-party tool called Skyvia, which allows us to export Quickbooks data to CSV (https://skyvia.com/data-integration/quickbooks-csv-file-import-and-export) on daily basis
Btw, it doesn't require coding knowledge and has a free version, so feel free to test it!

Is it easy to use and do they have customer support?  I currently use transaction pro and recently switched to online trans pro and quickbooks online.  No one seems to be able to figure out how why my transaction pro exporter won't pull my sales receipts in quickbooks.  One week later and  no one at Transaction Pro or QB has an answer,  I'm beyond frustrated.  The "support" at transaction pro is a joke,

@judy7141

Have you tried open your QBO account on private/incognito browser?

This INABILITY to export vis CSV file in QBO is crazy.  this is a HUGE issue. We have hundreds of part numbers with leading or trailing zeros.  ALL are lost when you export to excel.  WE MUST export in  CSV file. I have been asking for  years since we changed from Desktop to online. NO RESULT NO FOCUS NO RESOUTION>

Quickbooks- WHEN will this be available? or should we find a different accounting program?
