I have a C Corp startup, business books were simple in 2020. I've been using Quickbooks online for accounting. I'd like to use TurboTax Business to do my 2020 taxes. I just bought TurboTax Business as a Windows download. How do I get my QB online data into TT Business? I only see import directions for QB desktop.

I'm here to help export your QuickBooks Online (QBO) data to Turbo Tax, alex-xander.

While there isn't a direct way of performing this process, you have to export your QBO data to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). Before proceeding, you need to download the free trial of QBDT.

After you're finished downloading the product, you'll need to export the data to QBDT. From there, you can start moving your QBDT tax information to TurboTax.

I'm adding this link for instructions and detailed steps: How do I import QuickBooks data into TurboTax Business? This process may take time. You may want to manually enter your tax information into TurboTax if needed.

Keep me posted if you need additional information about the export process. Just leave a comment below, and I'm always right here to help you.

Thanks. I was able to follow along in the process. The tools are quite fickle and I found myself restarting, rebooting, trying again and again, and finally the files were able to load, just after repeating the same instructions.

@alex-xander

You may utilize the trial period of a bookkeeping app to export QBO data to TurboTax. You don't need to install the trial license of QB Desktop.

Is this still the case that the way to get this to work from QBO to Turbotax Desktop Mac is to

1) install VMware

2) buy a license to windows

3) download the trial version of QB Desktop

JUST TO GET THE TXF FILE?

Really?
