Question

How do I get an Estimate report showing the individual line items of each estimate?

"I can use Sales By Customer Detail" and then select "non posting" in the filters. This will show all delayed charges and estimates. But I am not able to filter out only Estimates and only those that are accepted.

@gusi

I'm impressed you're even able to get the Estimate item detail data from this sales report. You can also filter the same report by Estimate, but you get blank data, only non-posting works. I also looked at it, seems like it's not customizable further than that.

What they really need is, "Estimates by Customer Detail" report instead of just currently available Estimates by Customer report.

Hi -  I need this detailed estimate report too!  Where is the filter for "Non-posting" ?

Hello there, @dcroteau!

Let's go to your Sales by Customer Detail report and filter it to show your non-posting transactions.

Here's how:

  1. Pull up your Sales by Customer Detail report.
  2. Select Customize.
  3. Click the Filter option.
  4. Check the Transaction Type tick box.
  5. Under the drop-down menu, select Non-posting.
  6. Click Run Report.

I've attached a screenshot below to show you where the filter is.

We have been begging for this from the Intuit developers for *years* - we can't even find a 3rd party developer to help.

We need a way to run a report showing ALL item#s/item descriptions pulled from Estimates. Sorted by Item (not by customer).

Just as you go to "item list", right click and go to Quick Report: Item# but for estimates (or if from estimates could be included)

They won't add a way to do it :(
If they would just add a checkbox to this report to include from Estimates as well it would be perfect :(

We neeeed to know what items we need to order to cover estimate jobs and there is nooooooooo report to show this. We have to manually open each and every estimate and manually write down what we need. Drives us crazy. I don't understand why we can't create a custom report for this?
Can ANYONE help with a custom report for this?

This is how I did it.

Run Estimates by Job

I prefer the right hand column to be "Amount" as it excludes tax

In the Filters for Account I selected "All ordinary income accounts"

In the Filters for Estimate Active I selected "Yes"

Then when I run the report if there are 3 lines of details in the estimate, I get three lines of information for the same estimate

Hi, go to Report Center, choose Sales, scroll down until you find Estimates By Item For Sales Team and select this report by double clicking.

Click on Customize Report, choose Filters (2nd tab), type Name in the Search Filters box, All names will now be displayed under Name.

Click on Display (1st tab) and chose the date range that suits you.

Click OK (blue tab at the bottom)

You will have an estimate report that displays the individual line items of each estimate.

Good luck!

I do not see an Estimates by Item for Sales Team in my Standard Reports. Any other suggestions?

Hi there, CYCBusiness1526.

The Estimates by Item for Sales Team report is only available in the QuickBooks Desktop version. This is the reason why you're unable to see it in your QBO account.

As a work around, you can use the Sales by Customer Detail report. Then, customize it to only show non-posting transactions. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu and type in Sales by Customer Detail in the Search bar.
  2. Click Customize in the upper-right hand corner and scroll-down to the Filter tab.
  3. Check the box for Transaction Type and select Non-Posting
  4. Select Run report.
