Question

How do I get my Home Screen back to normal on my iPad for quickbooks app? It has my dashboard listed on the left and my screen is broken up into 3 ‘columns’

Thanks for joining us here in the Community, @ c9tjaden.

Let me guide you in performing some troubleshooting to reset your home screen.

This is most likely the result of a QuickBooks Online app system delay. We can start by doing a few basic troubleshooting procedures to resolve this problem. Let's restart your iPad to update the QuickBooks Online software first. Next, delete the application's data. You can do this inside your app or through your phone's settings by performing the procedures listed below:

  • For QuickBooks Online app:

  1. Click Menu ☰ and select Help & Feedback.
  2. Select Refresh Data.
  3. Then hit Refresh.

  • In your iPad Settings:

  1. From your phone's settings, select Settings, then, click on General.
  2. Choose iPad Storage.
  3. Select an app that's taking up a lot of space. To free up the storage without deleting the documents and data for the app, select Offload App.

After refreshing, you should be able to create sales receipt and reset original home screen. However, if the problem persists, I'd suggest uninstalling and reinstall the app.

I phoned QB support about this issue, and was told in no uncertain terms, it’s because an update was made for the app version (for smartphones), that didn’t work on tablets. Seemingly, according to QB, there are so few users with tablets (really???) that there will be no fix or update or resolution.
