Question

How do I keep track of 'who' recorded a transaction in Quickbooks. I have numerous people entering sales receipts under the same sign in so need to know.

Just to clarify, is it your own policy to let users use the same credential to login? If the answer is yes, why do you need to know "who" recorded a sales receipt? Is it related to sales commission or else?

I'm glad to see you here in the Community, @crandce.

To track the activities made by each QuickBooks Online (QBO) user, you can pull up the Audit log report. From here, you can view who made changes to your books and what they did.

Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Select the Reports menu.
  3. Scroll down and under the Business Overview section, click Audit log.
  4. From here, you'll see the date and time changes made, user who made changes, and the event.
  5. You can also, hit the View option under the History column to review the activities created (see screenshot for reference).

To know more about the report, please see this article: Use the audit log in QuickBooks Online.

Also, if in case you want to modify the details of your reports, you may click this link: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online. This article will provide you steps on how to filter, saved custom reports for future use, and share a copy of it over email.

Feel free to post here if you need further assistance while working with QBO. I'm always around to help. Take care always and have a good one.
