How do i move my company from 2017 qb to the 2020 qb?

1. download and install 2020. I always choose advanced and install new versions right alongside old. You never know when you just might need it

2. Open 2020 with non company open

3. Open company by browsing to location of your .qbw file

The file will be converted during opening to the 2020 version and will no longer be able to be opened by your 2017 - hence the need to backup prior to conversion

Secure a backup copy file (QBB) on your QB 2017 and restore it on your QB 2020.
