Hi there, cvelenovsky.

The option to run a report by project is currently unavailable. You'll have to run each project report separately in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'll show you how.

  1. Go to Projects.
  2. Select and click on the project's name.
  3. Go to the Project Reports tab.
  4. In the Project profitability section, click on the View link.
  5. Set the date under Report period.

You'll have to follow these steps to run a report for each project.

You also have the option to customize the report if you want to get detailed information on it. For more details, check this article: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Let us know if you need anything else moving forward. We'll fill you in. Have a great weekend.

This REALLY needs to be fixed.  What is the value in Projects if you can't report out of it?  I have read that QBO may be working on the problem and I really need an update.  The report writer is pretty under developed as it is!

Hello, @ac3

Projects is a newly added feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO). As mentioned by JaneD, the ability to run reports by projects is unavailable.

That would be a great addition to the current features that we have, so I’ll take note of it.

In the meantime, you’ll have to run each project report separately in QBO. You can follow the steps provided JaneD. You can run a report by each project by following those steps.

I'd also recommend you visiting our Blog to learn what new updates and features we have.

Also, here's an article on how to use Projects: Set up and create projects in QuickBooks Online
