How do I transfer billing to accountant in QBSE?

New accountant handles payment of QB and will upgrade me, but I need to transfer the billing first.  I can't find anywhere in the settings in QBSE where I can tell it to do this.  I've given access to the accountant, but that doesn't handle the billing.

I appreciate your effort and diligence in searching for a way to transfer billing to your accountant within QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), @ahm-bestserviceg. I'm here to help clarify the situation and explore what options might be available to you.

It's important to note that, unlike QuickBooks Online (QBO), QBSE currently doesn't offer the option to transfer billing directly to an accountant. While you've successfully given your accountant access to your account, this feature is limited to data access and doesn't extend to billing management.

As a workaround, you can update your billing information in QBSE to use your accountant's payment details. This approach allows your accountant to effectively manage the billing without requiring a formal transfer of responsibility within the system.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed in a web browser.
  2. Select your profile ⚙ icon and then Billing info.
  3. In the Payment Information section, click Edit ✎.
  4. Update the billing information. After saving the changes, the payment method will be displayed in the Payment information section.

For additional reference, check out this article: Update your billing and subscription info in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

This approach lets your accountant manage QB payments while you retain account control. It requires trust and clear communication about payment responsibilities between you and your accountant.

Remember, open communication with your accountant is key to making this arrangement successful, @ahm-bestserviceg. If you have any other questions about transferring billing, please don't hesitate to post again. We're here to help ensure you get the most out of your QuickBooks experience.
