Question

How do you change several reconciliation reports? One bank transaction was doubled back in September.

Thanks for being part of the QuickBooks community, rowinghopepc. Properly reconciling your accounts is so important for accurate financial reporting and keeping your books in order.

For now, there's no option to directly modify a past reconciliation report. However, there is a workaround that lets you redo and correct the September reconciliation.

The process involves unreconciling that period first, and then going through reconciliation again to fix it.

I'd be glad to guide you through the entire process. Here's how:

  1. Open your Chart of Accounts and find the account that has the reconciled transaction.
  2. Click View register.
  3. Find the transaction. If the transaction is reconciled, you’ll see an “R” in the checkmark ✔ column.
  4. Select the transaction to expand the view.
  5. In the checkmark ✔ column, keep clicking the box with the “R” until the box is blank. This removes the transaction from the reconciliation.
  6. Click Save.

This will save an updated reconciliation report for September with your changes.
