how do you delete a bank account from quickbooks

I need to delete two accounts that entered incorrectly into quickbooks.  They are not connected to banks, so I cannot "unlink/deactivate" them.  How do I resolve this issue?  I think it is messing up my accounts.

I can assist you with deactivating the two bank accounts in your QuickBooks Online account, @RK1818.

 

You can go to the Chart of Accounts to make those accounts inactive. You can delete it by making it inactive. 

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Gear icon ⚙ and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Find the account you want to deactivate.
  3. Click the Action dropdown and select Make inactive.
  4. Select Yes to confirm the changes.

 

Transactions in the deactivated account will still appear in your reports. In addition, QuickBooks will automatically create a journal entry if the accounts still have a balance.
