NOT MY USER ID

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Click on the Gear Icon > Manage Users.
  3. Go to the Accounting Firms section.
  4. Enter your accountant's email address and first/last name (optional).
  5. Click Invite. They will receive an email with a link for signing in to your company.
  6. They will be asked to create a user ID before signing in the first time unless they already have an account with Intuit Business Services.
  7. Until your accountant signs in, their status on the Manage Users page is "Invited." After accepting the invitation, their status changes to "Active."
  8. Click Next and Finish.

When I do as described, click on Gear icon and then select Manage Users, I do not see any Accountants section. My only choice is Add a new user, which is not appropriate for accountants.

How do I get to the Accountants section?

February 4, 2019

Hello vpanama,

Piled-up cache files can sometimes cause display issues in QuickBooks Online. Let's do some browser troubleshooting steps to get rid of any cache-related issues:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account using a private browser and add your accountant from there.
  2. If you can do it successfully, you can go back to your regular browser and clear the cache storage.
  3. You can use other support browsers, too.

Let me know how this goes. I'll be around if you need further assistance with this.

Please invite my accountant

October 24, 2019

The issue mentioned in this thread was resolved months ago, asarun34.

For the Simple Start, Essentials, and Plus subscriptions, you can invite up to two accountants. On the other hand, you can invite up to three accountants for the Advanced subscription.

Here's how to invite your accountant:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner and select Manage Users.
  2. In the Manage users page, select the Accounting firms tab.
  3. Click the Invite button.
  4. Enter your accountant's information and click Save.

We're here if you have more questions in mind.

I have followed the above directions, however the green SAVE button never becomes active.  What am I doing incorrectly:

March 9, 2020

As of 9th of Mars 2020, this is still not working. I can't see the accountant tab to invite my accountant.

I just subscribed today and can't move forward with this.

Here's a screenshot attached.

Best,

Janick

I appreciate the screenshot, @Janick.

Let's open your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account via a private or incognito browser. This way, we can see and check if this issue is caused by stored cache form the browser. Too much cache can cause unusual behavior and affect the views and performance of your QBO account.

To open a private or incognito window, you can follow these keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Internet Explorer & Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

If you're able to view the accountant tab via a private or incognito window, then you'll need to clear your browser cache. This will remove all the cache and helps your browser to function efficiently.

If the issue persists, I recommend using another browser. This way, we can see and check if this is a browser-related issue.

For additional reference in adding your accountant to your QBO account, check this article for details: Invite or remove an accountant.

Also, I encourage checking this article to learn some best practices on managing your users: Add, delete, or change user access.

Let me chime with you, @Ganga.

Your boss should have to send it using your personal email because that is the email tied up to your QuickBooks account. You can let your boss resend the invite to your personal email id.

I don't understand I have created my own personal account with Quick books with my personal email id and company is creating with my official id. How can I mingle both

March 28, 2020

Thanks for your prompt response, @Ganga.

If you'll use the official id, it isn't required to create different login credentials. For that reason, using credentials that are the same as your existing account is recommended. Then you'll have the option to switch to your books and the client's account after signing in QuickBooks.

I'll add this article as your reference on how to manage your clients in QuickBooks Online Accountant. It includes how to create tax returns and review and adjust transactions.

How do I invite my accountant

Thanks for joining the thread, @Fred47.

I'm happy to guide you in inviting your accountant in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Before doing so, we need to make sure that you have the master admin or accountant access to invite accounting firms.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Your Company, choose Manage users.
  3. Select the Accounting firms tab.
  4. Enter the accountant's email address and click the Invite button.

They'll receive an email invitation with instructions on how to accept it.

For additional reference in adding your accountant to your QBO account, check this article for details: Invite or remove an accountant.

I've also added this link to learn some best practices on managing user's access to QBO: Add, delete, or change user access.

How do I sign into my Quickbooks Online account ?

March 16, 2022

Let's make sure you'll be able to sign in to your account, LarryM2.

Logging into your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account is quick and easy. You'll just have to make sure you're using the correct email address you used to sign up for your account. I've attached a screenshot for your guide.

If you have multiple companies, you'll be asked to confirm the account you want to sign in with. You can select Yes, that's correct if the account displayed is the one you want to access. To give you more information about adding another company, I've added this article for more details: Create or Add Another Company File To QuickBooks Online.

On the other hand, if you're having issues when logging into your account, go through these articles for your reference:

Hello there, @reybrz.

There's no need to worry. I'm here to ensure you can get through this and access QuickBooks Online (QBO) company. Before anything else, we'll want to rule out the possibility of having issues with the browser itself. Know that when a browser is full of temporary internet files or Cache and cookies, it can affect your browsing experience and sometimes lead to your operation getting stuck or stopping.

To get this fixed, you'll want to access your account in an incognito or private window. You can use the following shortcut keys to access an incognito browser:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

Once you're in, try to access the invitation link. If it works and you're able to access the account, you can proceed to clear your browser's cache. Refer to this article for the steps: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

You can also use other compatible browsers if the issue persists. Refer to this article to see the list of compatible browsers in QuickBooks Online: Other browsers.

Now, if the issue persists. I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Team, so they access the account in a secure environment and determine the root cause of the problem. See this article for more details: QuickBooks Online Support.

Moreover, here's an article to help you ensure data stays accurate inside the company file: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.

@reybrz, please don't hesitate to comment below if you need further assistance accessing QuickBooks or performing specific tasks inside the program. I'll be here, ready to help you out again. Stay safe, and have a nice day!
