How do you reset "Updating" function? It's been updating for 2 hrs? I have closed the app, rebooted the computer, and when I sign back in, same thing

Welcome to the Community space, mark312.

I understand you want to stop or reset the update mechanism so you may finish some QuickBooks tasks. I'm here to help you with this.

Before we begin, I need to clarify something. Do you mean your bank account, which still updating for more than two hours? If this is the case, it usually happens when your financial institution has a server issue or is undergoing maintenance. You may check if everything is working on your bank's end by going to their website.

If your bank isn't having issues, you can perform basic troubleshooting steps to resolve the problem. Your browser's cache and cookies can become corrupted, resulting in strange behaviors such as runtime errors and unresponsive pages.

Let's begin by using an incognito or private browser to access your QuickBooks account. To open the window, use the following keyboard shortcuts:

  • Ctrl + Shift + N for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl + Shift + P for Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge
  • Command + Shift + N for Safari

Once you're in, go to the Banking section and check your bank accounts. If the updating has stopped, you'll need to return to your regular browser and clear the cache to remove the unwanted files. Alternatively, you can use one of the supported browsers.

Additionally, you can read the following articles to help speed up the review of your bank transactions:
