I appreciate you for sharing the details of your concern with us, @manderson-hudson. I'll share some insights about sorting reports by opening balance in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

The option to sort your report by open balances isn't available in QBO. What we can do is export it to Excel. Then, you can sort it from there instead.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Search for and select the report you want to export.
  3. At the top of the report, click the Export icon, then Export to Excel.
  4. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it on your computer.

You can also check this article for additional reference: Export reports, lists, and other data from QuickBooks Online.

I recognize how beneficial it is to your business to seamlessly sort your reports in QBO. I'd suggest sending your feedback to our Product Development team. They are always open to any suggestions as this can help us make QuickBooks better. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Feedback.
  2. Enter your suggestions, then select Next.

Additionally, you can customize your reports if you want to export specific details of your transactions in QuickBooks: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to comment below if you need anything else about managing your reports in QBO. I'm always right here to help. Take care!
