Question

How the HELL do you cancel a subscription when it wants you to "update your card" but doesn't give you the option to cancel the account under the billing and sub. tab?

Hi @allseasonshw  , just try to change your password. May be it caused by error. Clear caches and browsing history or open in different browsing engine. You could reach QBO support team . Comment back, cheers.

Hey there, allseasonshw.

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community today. I can show you how to cancel your account.

When a browser stored a lot of caches, it could cause problems like not showing some icons and options into your account or latency issue. As an initial step, you can press the F5 key on your keyboard to refresh the page.

If you're still unable to cancel your account, let's start by logging into your QuickBooks Online account using an incognito window. It's a great way to isolate browser-related issues since it doesn't store data in the cache. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P

Once signed in, go back to your Billing & Subscription's page and cancel your account from there. If you're using a trial version and don't see the option to cancel the account, you can wait for 30 days until the trial automatically ends. It will make the account inactive, and there'll be no charges as long as you don't update your payment method or card info.

You can go through this article to know more about how long you can access your data once your account is canceled: What happens to my QuickBooks Online data after I cancel?

Feel free to drop me a reply below if you have any other QuickBooks concerns. I'll be around to help.
