Question

How to change a client in the General Ledger report, if by replacing it in a transaction, nothing changes in the report?

When selecting a transaction in the report, when disclosing information, everything is indicated correctly, when closing the transaction window, the client in the general report is indicated incorrectly, we cannot change the client in any way. Maybe someone has encountered a similar problem.

Welcome to the Community! I recognize how to run a correct General ledger report in your QuickBooks Online account.

Let me explain why your edited transaction doesn't match your general ledger. When customizing a report, you need to be the one who edits the specific transaction for you to view the changes made. If your employee or other user is the one who edited it and then saved it on the customized report, you will not be able to view the changes made by your employee or the other user.

However, if you edited the transaction on your end and you won't be able to view the changes in the General ledger, I'd recommend checking your browser. It may have something to do with your browser files.

Sometimes, browsing applications can cause issues with specific web pages. You can open a private window and try logging in to your QuickBooks Online account.

Here's how to access incognito mode in most commonly used browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P

If the private window doesn't work, please clear the cache and cookies on your browser.

Furthermore, I'm adding this helpful article as your guide on memorizing a report in QBO: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online.
