How to change login password

Staff change and last password fails.

Tried to reset password but do not have access the phone.  Reset link sends me to a screen that tells me to contact support.

Login UID - removed

2nd Login UID - removed

We need to access this account to update it.  Please respond as soon as possible to removed or to either email address noted above.

    I'd be glad to offer my assistance in changing your login password for QuickBooks Online.

    You can change your password by clicking the I forgot my user ID or Password link from the Sign in page. Since you can't access the phone, you can enter your email address instead of the phone number, then you should receive a message that allows you to reset the password of your login credentials.

    If you still can't access your account, I'd suggest contacting our QuickBooks Customer Care Team so they can pull up your account in a secure environment and change it for you.

    You can simply reset your QuickBooks Password by following the below steps:

     

    • You see the login screen in the QuickBooks desktop, Select I forgot my password.
    • Answer the security question and click OK.
    • Just press on Close when you see this message: “ When you removed the password and challenge answer and the question then your company file is no longer password-protected. When you nearby this window, then you create a new password and select and answer your challenge question.”
    • Open the window then change the QuickBooks password.
    • Then enter a new password and new challenge question.
    • Press on OK.

    Then your File will open.

      You might've not set up the security question in QuickBooks the reason why there's nothing to pop up. To reset your password, you can use the Automated Password Reset Tool.

       

      This will help you regenerate your QuickBooks password, just make sure that all the information matches in our system such as:

       

      • License Number
      • First name
      • Last name
      • Email Address
      • Business Phone Number
      • ZIP

      If you're trying to reset a user password, here's how:

       

      1. Sign in as the admin user.
      2. Click Company at the top menu bar, select Set Up Users and Passwords. Then select Set Up Users.
      3. If prompted, enter the admin password again.
      4. In the User List, select the user that needs to change their password. Then select Edit User.
      5. Enter a new password.
      6. Hit Next twice, then select Finish.

      If the user needs to sign-in on the same computer, go to the File menu and select Close Company. The user can now sign in with their new password.
