Hi there, dzack.

Let me guide you on how to pair off the payments in different periods on the A/R Aging Summary Report.

In QuickBooks Online, you can record a received payment and link it with a specific invoice regardless of its period. Additionally, if your customer has a remaining credit, you can use this to pay off the balance, so it will clear the transaction in the report.

You can follow the steps below to record the payment:

  1. In the A/R Aging Detail Summary Report, select the customer you want to receive the payment.
  2. Locate and select the invoice.
  3. On the Invoice page, click the Receive Payment button.
  4. Review the associated invoice is correct, then click Save and Close.

You can follow the same steps for your other pending invoices to offset them in the aging report and manage your business finances.

Furthermore, you can run a Transaction List by Customer Report to view the transactions made and have a snapshot view of your business. You can also customize it or run other reports you want to manage your account.

You can hit the reply button if you have other questions about managing payments and the A/R Aging Summary Report in QuickBooks. I'll be here to provide you with the support and guidance you'll need. Have a great day!

Unfortunately this did not work with Qb online that we use.  Thank you anyway.

Hello there, @dzack-bryangarni

I understand the importance of pairing payments on your accounts receivable aging summary report for different periods. I'd love to help you achieve your goal. However, I need your cooperation so we can accomplish this.

May I ask for further details about your concern, specifically why my colleague's response didn't work? Providing a screen will also be helpful, and I would appreciate further information you'll provide.

I'll wait for your response, @dzack-bryangarni. We're always available to assist you.
