Welcome to the Community, ilf0128.

When an employee forgets the password when logging into the Workforce page, all they have to do is select the I forgot my user ID or password link and follow the onscreen instructions.

You can also, visit this article for more insights about accessing the Workforce: Access your paychecks

However, if the employee is one of your QuickBooks users, you can have him reset the password by clicking the I forgot my user ID and password option. After that, you'll be asked to enter your phone number or email address so you can receive a User ID Recovery information. From there, select the link in the notification that you receive (text message/email) to reset your User ID.

That option does not show up.  It says to try another way IE text me a code.  When you get the code and enter it, you get a message saying it has expired

You've come to the right place for assistance with all things QuickBooks, @TP46. I'm here to provide some info regarding resetting passwords for employees and the option does not show up in QuickBooks Online.

It is possible that your browser cache has been stored for a prolonged period, which can cause it to behave erratically. To diagnose whether you are experiencing a browser-related issue, I recommend performing some basic troubleshooting steps.

Here are the shortcut keys for these browsers:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Clear your cache and refresh website preferences, which may cause issues with QBO.

If you're all good with this, feel free to review this module to update or change your email address, user ID, password, and other information for your QuickBooks: Update or change your Intuit Account sign-in information.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns about resetting passwords for your employees. I'll be here to answer your next posts. Take care.
