i am a new user - inherited existing qb setup. i have 50 customers that i invoice periodically. have several qustions but will start with this: there is a message that is on all the invoices - how do i change that message on all 50 as easily as possi

Welcome aboard to the Community. I can assist you with changing the invoice message in QuickBooks Online.

 

The message that reflects on invoices will depend on the sales form template you select when creating transactions. For existing invoices, you'll need to change the details by opening each transaction manually.

 

Since the option to update the information by batch is unavailable, you can follow these steps to update the message:

 

  1. On the left navigation bar, click Sales.
  2. Go to the Invoices tab.
  3. Open the invoice to edit.
  4. Edit the invoice message.
  5. Hit Save and close.
  6. Repeat the same steps for the other invoices.

 

Also, there are steps you can perform to avoid this from happening in the future. I recommend setting up a template that contains the default message for your customers.

 

You can use this every time you create sales transactions. The sales form templates will help you automate specific information like the messages.

 

To create or edit a template, here's how:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select Customer form styles under Your Company.
  3. Choose a template and press Edit.
  4. Go to the Content tab, then click the Pencil icon at the bottom. 
  5. Change the message. 
  6. Create a new invoice.
  7. Press the Customize option at the bottom.
  8. Choose the correct template.
