Question

I am periodically asked to enter a Verification Code on login. It is sent to my email. How can I disable this security feature?

I don’t require this level of security, and often it is inconvenient to access my email for the code

Hi there, robgoodwin76.

 

To remove this security feature, I suggest to disable two-step verification for your Intuit account.

 

Two-step verification is a security setting where you confirm that you’re the one signing in to your account using your password and a unique code.

 

If you're still using the same phone number, here's how to disable verification:

 

1. Sign in to your Intuit account.

2. On the left menu, click Sign In & Security.

3. From the Two-step verification section, select Turn off.

4. Enter the code, then hit Continue.

 

If you're using a different phone number, you first need to update your phone number so you can sign in to your account. Once it’s updated, you can then turn off two-step verification. To do this:

 

1. Complete the Email Change Request form. Take note to make sure to enter your new phone number in the Recovery Number field.

2. Attach a copy of any of your photo ID forms.

3. Once the file is uploaded, choose Submit.

4. Once you receive a notification that your phone number is updated, sign in to your Intuit account.

5. From the left menu, select Sign In & Security.

6. In the Two-step verification section, select Turn off. Enter the code, then hit Continue.

 

After following the steps above, you can now sign in to your account using only your password.

Where do i find the sign in and security on the left menu to assist me disable the two step verification?

Hi gnambaziira!

 

We can turn off the two-step verification by logging in to your Intuit Account. Let me show you how:

  1. From your QuickBooks Online account, select the Intuit Account icon at the top right, then click Manage your Intuit Account.
  2. Select Sign in & security menu, tap the Two-step verification section.
  3. Click the Turn off button and enter the password.
  4. Tap the Turn off two-step verification button.

Please note that though the two-step verification is turned off, you may still be required to enter a code but not always. Multi-factor authentication is the extra layer of security to protect your data. There are factors that may trigger this, such as:

  1. Loin to a new device or new browser
  2. After clearing the browser's cache and history
