Question

I am running a report and it is doubling my income because "Sales" and "Sales of Product Income" are both on the list but they are the same thing. how do I remove one?

Appreciate you reaching out to us here today, @julie-bfeoutdoor.

 

I'll share some information about removing an income account. Income accounts are link to your product/service items. That said, you'll want to review your items to make sure they are associated to the correct sales income account. 

 

Here's how:

  1. Go to Gear.
  2. Choose Products and Services.
  3. Look for the items that are attached to the incorrect sales account. Then, Edit. See the image below.
  4. Click Save and close.

 

 

 

After that, create a journal entry to transfer the amount from the other sales account. 

 

Once done, make the other income account inactive. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Accounting and then choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. Locate income account in question.
  3. From the Action column, click Make inactive.

All of the products are set correctly I think. I made it inactive but now it shows as deleted on the report. How do I make it go away?
