Hello, oneshao.

I'll share some solutions to help you resolve the Payment not submitted error message in Self-Employed.

The IRS updated their password criteria to 12 characters or less. QuickBooks has already made the change.

So if you have more than 12 characters as your EFTPS password, you'll want to enter the first twelve in QuickBooks.

You might also want to change your password in the EFTPS website (according to the new criteria), then enter the new one in QuickBooks.

Alternatively, you can pay your estimated taxes in EFTPS, then manually track them in QuickBooks.

After paying manually and if you have your bank connected with QuickBooks Self-Employed, simply categorize the transaction as your tax payment. If not, you'll want to manually add it to your account:

  1. Go to the Transactions menu.
  2. Click Add transaction.
  3. Enter "quarterly federal tax payment" in the description field.
  4. Enter the amount and the date.
  5. Click Select a category, then set it to Taxes, and choose Estimated Taxes.
  6. When you're done, click Save.

More details can be found here: Pay federal estimated quarterly taxes in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
