Question

I can not connect my bank anymore. It worked fine and now it won’t connect, it tries and then it makes my bank lock me out for too many log in attempts. What am I doing wrong?

Hi rionicole-hotmai!

I understand how convenient it is to connect the bank to QuickBooks Self-Employed. Let me help you with fixing it.

First, if you haven't yet, you'll want to check with your bank and see if they are having an issue. This could result in connection errors between the bank and QuickBooks Self-Employed.

We can also refresh the banking to resync it. Go to the Gear icon, select Bank accounts, and click Refresh all.

If the same thing happens, this could be a browser-related error. You'll want to use an incognito window and check it from there. Here are some of the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P

Let's also clear the cache. This is a junk file on the browser that causes unusual behavior in QuickBooks. Lastly, make sure to use an up-to-date browser cause the old ones can results in issues, too.

Please visit our Help page by clicking this link: Find help with bank feeds. This is where you can search articles about banking in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
