I can not enter my KEIN into QUICKBOOK

Our company KEIN is [removed].
But when I enter the KEIN into QUICKBOOK, the system displays: Enter a valid Employer Identification Number (KEIN)
How can I solve this problem?

I'm here to share details about entering an Employer Identification Number (EIN) in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

To start, may I know what are you referring to as KEIN? Also, where did you tried to enter these details? Any additional information will help me provide the best resolution for your concern.

 

In the meantime, you can enter your EIN in QBO by going to Account and Settings. Here's how to do it:

 

  1. In QBO, go to the Gear (Settings) icon at the top right.
  2. Go to Company, then click the Company name section.
  3. Select EIN, then enter your new info.

It's a KEIN(Kentucky Employer Identification Number). When I get to the step of entering Kentuck Unemployment
Insurance, the system asks me to enter the KEIN.

Upon viewing the attachment, the number you entered is eight digits only. The Kentucky Employer Identification Number (KEIN) should be nine digits.

 

I'd recommend reaching out to your States Agency to verify your number and get the correct one. Then, input the details again in the  Employer Identification Number field. For the detailed steps, please see this article: Add or Change your Payroll State Account Number.
