Good day to you, Mariah.

Let me be your best help today so you can view the Products and Services section.

Firstly, let's ensure that you're logging in as an admin or your role can access the Inventory section. You can use this article as a guide to help you find out: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.

If you're not the admin and your access can't view this section, you can reach out to the primary admin and request a role change in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Feel free to share these steps with them as to how:

  1. From the Settings ⚙, select Manage users.
  2. Look for the user you want to edit, then click Edit in the Action column. You can change the user role from the Roles ▼ dropdown. You can't edit the Time tracking only roles. Instead, delete them, then add them again with the correct role.
  3. Pick the account management settings you want to manage.
  4. Once done, tap Save.

Check out this article for more info: Add and manage users in QuickBooks Online.

Secondly, if your current role should have access to this section in QBO, let's perform some troubleshooting steps to ensure this isn't a browser-related issue.

To start, log in to your account in a private browser mode to avoid storing cache file that causes odd behaviors when running web-based programs. See shortcut keys below:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift +N

If this works, clear the cache of your regular browser to eliminate accumulated data. If the issue persists, you can use another supported browser or device. It might be that the current one you're using has a temporary issue with the program.

If the issue persists, I recommend contacting the QBO Care Team to help you pull up your account in a safe environment and check for the root cause.

On top of that, if they see that this is a recurring concern to several users, there will be an investigation for a deeper understanding of how to fix the issue.

For future reference, if you want to learn how to change item types in your products or services, feel free to read this article: Change product and service item types in QuickBooks Online.

Leave a reply below for additional questions about managing the products and services section or any QBO-related concerns. I'll be willing to lend a hand. Keep safe, and have a good one.
