Hi there, WillBill.
Welcome to the QuickBooks community. Let me discuss other options on how you can find a created journal entry. Then, perform troubleshooting steps to ensure you can see the said transaction so you can continue working on it.
QuickBooks Online creates locating transactions quick and easy with the search function. Aside from using the Audit log to see newly created journal entries, I recommend using the Magnifying Glass to find transactions.
Here's how:
- Select the Magnifying Glass beside the Help icon.
- Enter the date, amount, or transaction number you’re looking for. Then, select the desired transaction.
- If the transaction you're looking for does not appear on the results list, choose Advanced Search.
- Adjust the filters to find the type of data you want.
You can open this article to see further details on the search function works in QuickBooks: How to search for transactions in QuickBooks Online.
However, if the issue continues to occur, a cache full of history and temp files can cause unexpected behaviors, such as being unable to see the created journal entry. With this, I recommend logging in to your QuickBooks account using a private browser. Then, access the Audit log and Search icon from there.
Use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using:
- For Firefox or Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
- For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
- For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.
If it works in incognito, you'll have to clear the cache of your regular browser. This deletes the history or log of sites so you can start with a clean slate. If the steps above didn't work, use another supported browser as an alternative.
Lastly, you may refer to this article to see steps on how you can delete a journal entirely: Reverse or delete a journal entry in QuickBooks Online.
