Question

I don't need to be an accountant!

I am the office manager (main AP/AR contact) and the primary admin on my company's account. We have an outside accountant with QBO accountant access. At some point, I added myself to the list of accountants but later removed myself because I didn't need any of the accountant tools. However, now every time I open up QBO Desktop I am automatically directed to the accountant version of QBO (with the white sidebar instead of the black sidebar) where there are zero clients. I'm tired of selecting "switch account" every day to get back to the normal view. Can someone help me deactivate this part of my account?

Hello there, @SW-officemanager.

Let's work on this together to keep you from switching back and forth to access your regular QuickBooks Online (QBO) version.

When you use the QBO Desktop app, your account will be signed in for 6 months unless you manually sign it out. It explains why every time you open the application, it automatically routes you to your accountant version. To resolve this, let's manually sign out your QuickBooks Accountant version by clicking the Profile icon and hitting Sign out.

After that, close and reopen the application. Then, re-login your Intuit account and ensure you choose the appropriate QuickBooks version to manage your account.

Furthermore, learn how to navigate your QBO account through the application for the best and most convenient experience. Do so by visiting this article:  Download and use the desktop app in QuickBooks Online (all versions) and Accountant.

Let me know if you need additional help logging into your QuickBooks account or managing your transaction entered into the application, @SW-officemanager. The Community always has your back. Stay safe!
