Hello, marendanderson.

It's a tough decision to let go of a business. Also, I, for one, don't like any unknown or unwanted charges from services I don't use anymore. That said, I'm here to guide you through the process of getting the refund.

It looks like your subscription is still active, which is why you were still charged. In this case, you'll want to cancel it to prevent unwanted future charges and process the refund:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Click the Gear icon, then choose Account and settings.
  3. Go to the Billing & Subscriptions tab.
  4. Click the Cancel subscription link on the QuickBooks Online section.
  5. Follow the prompts to proceed with the cancel.

More details about the process can be found in this article: Cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription or trial.

Alternatively, you can request for a refund from the charge by filling out the form here: Request a refund for your QuickBooks product.

If want to confirm the refund with our agents, you can contact them. They can pull up your account and review your billing details:

  1. Click the Help menu, then choose Talk to a human.
  2. When asked by QB Assistant bot, type "refund status" or similar.
  3. Click the I still need a human option.
  4. Proceed with the Contact us link.
  5. Choose how you want to reach them (chat or phone).

If you need to back up your data for audit or tax purposes, check this article on how to export your lists and other financial information: Export reports, lists, and other data from QuickBooks Online.
