Welcome to QuickBooks Communit, clearwatercarpet. This isn't the kind of impression that I'd like you to have, and we know how much time it can take when something isn’t working the way you need it. With this, I'll be sharing different details about exporting process of Online Payroll to QuickBooks for Mac to ensure your matter be addressed.

Standalone Payroll Product, QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP), and QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac have various platforms. The QBOP version is both payroll and accounting software combined. If you're using the said version, you'll have to manually export your file from QBO to start sending your payroll data. Then, import them to your QBDT for the Mac company file. While doing this, I suggest downloading and using import kits so you can easier transfer data to and from different platforms to better manage company records in QuickBooks and to avoid any issues.

If you'll still unable to view the exported data, you can re-run the exporting process. However, you might want to check first and retrieve the.IIF file by following the steps below:

  1. Go to Payday and select Paycheck List.
  2. From the Export section, select Preferences.
  3. Select the paychecks you want to export, then select Export. This will download the .IIF file automatically.
  4. The downloaded .IIF file will show at the bottom of your browser. Don't open the file, just save it in your folders. If the downloaded file does not appear at the bottom, check your downloads folder.
  5. You can now proceed in importing the .IIF files into your QuickBooks.

However, if there are no files to retrieve, you'll have to make sure that you properly set up the data from Payroll Online before exporting to ensure that everything is accurate. You can check this article to view further details: Export into QuickBooks Online or Desktop from Core, Premium, or Elite Standalone Payroll

Then, you can now start again the exporting data process from the Online version to QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

Additionally, if you are using our Standalone Payroll Product, you'll have to export first your payroll transactions into QuickBooks Desktop for windows. Then, import them into your Quickbooks Desktop for Mac. To begin with, you'll have to download a trial of the QuickBooks Desktop link to get the version of QBDT. It provides license and product numbers you can enter upon installing the sample file.
